?Woodturning Art, Heirlooms and Coaching

?Blue Ridge Turnery is Dave Robinson’s Wood Turning Playground. The 12 lathes in the studio, and Dave’s penchant to share his addiction and mentor new turners make Blue Ridge Turnery the perfect place to learn the art and craft of woodturning.

Using mainly native hardwoods, which have been taken down by arborists or a storm, which he refers to as “Roadkill,” Dave creates beautiful bowls, vases, hollow forms and other works of art. Some of these finished works are available in the studio. Over 100 roughed out pieces are available for custom finishing including wood burned inscription of the buyer’s choice.

Dave likes to create heirlooms for customers who may have wood from a special tree, such as the tree with the tire swing at grandpa’s farm….

Most of all, Dave enjoys sharing the craft with new woodturners. Classes are offered for individuals or groups. One popular option is “Date Night” where a couple will learn to turn and create and customize a salad bowl that will be in their family for generations.

On all Thursday’s except the Thursday of the Club meeting, members of Catoctin Area Turners meet at Blue Ridge Turnery from 2pm till 9 pm. Each week there is a demonstration, and Open Shop with mentoring for all levels. Come to TNT, Thursday Night Turning and see if woodturning is for you…
