Don’t miss visiting us as you traverse Virginia’s Western Highlands Artisan Trail. You will find much to enjoy in historic Clifton Forge!

Our campus consists of a 100 year old lumber mill, hardware store, wholesale grocery building and grounds that were re-purposed to provide studio, exhibit and instruction spaces. We are located in the historic downtown of Clifton Forge.

Clifton Forge School of the Arts offers group and individual classes for Adults and Children in: the visual arts of painting, drawing and sculpture; applied arts of stained glass design, glass design, blacksmithing, woodworking and pottery; musical arts of piano, guitar, violin and cello; and fiber arts along with many rotating art programs. The lumber mill has become a venue for ongoing musical events and a market place for artists and artisans to display their works during our annual Kriskindlmarkt Holiday Shopping Market.

Scholarship programs for children are available upon request. Thanks to grants, we are able to offer several free programs for children during the year. We are a 501c3 non-profit school and we welcome any support you may provide. Online gift-giving is available at

We look forward to you visiting with us soon.
