Constance Belle Fisher is a local Clarke County, Shenandoah Valley artist. Although born in the foothills of Western Pennsylvania, she has lived in rural Northern Virginia for over 30 years. Ms. Fisher has an instinctive affinity for creative artistic expression. She studied at the Carnegie-Mellon College of Fine Arts, the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Community College of Baltimore, Towson University and Johns Hopkins University, working there as an assistant illustrator in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine before moving to Virginia.

Influenced by the French Impressionists and working on location, Constance views her art as visual expressions of the unique characteristics of urban and rural America. She records old barns, quaint towns, city dwellers, and country folk with descriptive, romantic interpretation. Her art explores light, form, atmosphere, and color; it is filled with mood and movement. Constance recently visited Monet’s home in France and painted along the Seine River. Her paintings and photography have been in numerous competitions, are in many private collections, and are now available in limited edition giclée prints.
