A continuing curiosity and attention to fragile details of her surroundings have remained a constant and lifelong interest to artist, Diane Jackson, and to incorporate and capture the wondrous detail in her paintings is forever a challenge. Diane relates, “With each new painting or art piece, I strive to capture the fleeting mood and intricate dimensions of the subjects that are a part of all our surroundings and lives.

Diane Jackson’s watercolor paintings, oil paintings and scratchboard pieces are shown in various annual exhibits, the Rappahannock Wildlife Show, White Stone, Virginia, Sidewalk Art Show, Williamsburg, Virginia, An Occasion for the Arts, Williamsburg, Virginia, Arts on the Lawn, Richmond, Virginia, Arts Around the Lake, Richmond, Virginia, Art on the Half Shell, Urbanna, Virginia, and The Living Museum, Newport News, Virginia.

Diane’s watercolor paintings have been exhibited by juried selection in the 1992 - 1997 Mid Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition, Baltimore Watercolor Society, Baltimore, Maryland. She has attained Artist Member status in the Virginia Watercolor Society by Jurored selection to the 1987, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001 Annual Exhibitions.

In early 1994 her work was accepted to be on file in the archives at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.; her work was included as a featured artist in the 1996 Watercolor Magic, a national artist publication, THE BEST of WATERCOLOR: PAINTING TEXTURES, 1998, by Rockport Publishers and SPLASH 6, 2000 and SPLASH 8, 2003, by North Light Books. Diane’s watercolor painting, “Sonatina”, was awarded Best In Show at the 1997 Georgetown International Art Competition, Fraser Gallery, Georgetown, Washington, D.C. and her watercolor painting “Moon Glow” was awarded Best In Show at the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild 9th Annual Exhibition, year 2000, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Her work was featured at the Twentieth Century Gallery Williamsburg, Virginia, during October, 2000 and she was the featured artist exhibiting at the University Club, Washington, D.C. during June, 2001.

Many exhibits are again on the agenda for Diane Jackson and she may be found several days a week in her working studio and gallery, the Diane Jackson Artist Studio and Gallery, located on Route 3, Town of Montross, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, in the green building next to the Northern Neck Coca-Cola Plant.
