I remember my mother allowing me to “fire” my clay/mud creations in her oven when I was 9 or 10. Thinking back on it, that may have been the beginning of my interest in creating in ceramics much later in life.

Having grown up in Europe, Turkey and Ethiopia many of my designs are inspired by the artisans and craftsmen of other cultures and times. The natural world is also a major source of ideas and you’ll often see textures, forms and details from nature incorporated in my art panels and ceramic tiles.

Through more than a decade of working in ceramics, I have explored a variety of methods in the production of handmade tiles and domestic wares. The majority of my ceramics are made using slipcasting and handbuilding techniques rather than being wheelthrown. I particularly enjoy creating ceramics that are both functional and decorative and that become a part of the homes and daily lives of my clients and collectors.
