A supporting venue of the arts in the historic small town of Colonial Beach VA

This small museum traces the history of the quaint seaside town of Colonial Beach, which began as a “destination resort” in the late 1800’s, when folks came by paddle steamer from ports further up the Potomac River (old town Alexandria, Washington DC) to escape the stifling heat of summer in the city.

The all-volunteer board of the Museum believes that art is an integral part of history, and we enjoy promoting that connection. We hope you will include us in your visit to Colonial Beach, which was recently voted “Best Beach in Virginia” in a USA Today poll.

Admission is free.
