Owned and maintained since 1983 by Craig County Historical Society, this New Castle landmark and our two adjacent log cabins will take you back to the days of mineral spring resorts, Confederate money, and feather-tick beds. We moved into our new ground-level Genealogy Library fall 2012 and put a new roof on the Hotel in fall, 2014.

We have just published the 26th book in our series “In & Around Craig County.” It covers Maggie, Dicks Creek, Old Waiteville Road, Little Oregon and Tri-State Lumber Company. We have 14 local landmarks produced by Hometowne Collectibles, along with county census from 1860 thru 1940 and other genealogy resources; we’ll be glad to ship anywhere!

The ground-floor Genealogy Library is open every Friday from 1 to 4 until November 20 and will reopen on Friday April 1. The Craig County Courthouse is right across the street, convenient for researchers. The Hotel and Cabins can be toured also.

Please call for more information or to make an appointment anytime: Diane: 540-864-5004, Opal: 864-5489, or Glenn: 864-5066.
