The Red Lantern Inn in downtown Clifton Forge, a 100 year building totally renovated in 2010, provides a “homey” atmosphere for guests to enjoy. The Inn consists of 7 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths, fully stocked kitchen where guests can have a continential breakfast and coffee, tea and hot chocolate at their convenience. Three seating areas in the living room with TV, media room with TV, bar area & attached back courtyard, glassed in upstairs porch, as well at a covered front porch provide a lot of space to guests to gather. Restaurants, shops, the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Craft Center, the C&O Heritage Center, the Clifton Forge School of he Arts &The Mill and the Masonic Amphitheater. Located nearby are Douthat State Park, The Homestead in Hot Springs and Greenbriar Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WVA. State Forests and the Jackon, Cowpasture and James Rivers which provide opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Riders Up in Clifton Forge can arrange canoeing/kayaking, biking and fishing trips for guests. Clifton Forge is a station for Amtrack and there is a local transportation service, Ride Nicely, that will transports guests to local attractions.
